Big Idea
NS2 is a deep-tech startup specializing in cutting-edge biosensing systems (NOxAqua) for smart, on-site, and real-time monitoring of key nitrogen-based nutrients—ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate— enabling optimal management in recirculating water systems. Land-based recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) tackle many challenges (e.g., sustainability, biosecurity, limited expansion space, and scarce water availability) faced by modern aquaculture, the world’s fastest-growing agricultural sector. Most water quality parameters are controlled continuously, but the toxic ammonia and nitrite are still measured through manual assays, which is incompatible with the high level of automation in RAS.
